Defeated Pelosi Tries To Spin The Truth About Sending The Articles Of Impeachment To The Senate

The House Dems have been playing games when it comes to the impeachment process. They have been trying to control the Senate as they know their evidence lacking case is likely going to be thrown out. Pelosi is finally claiming that she will be passing the articles of impeachment over to the Senate and they plan to have a meeting about it Tuesday morning. Somehow Pelosi thinks this is a win, she feels that by holding onto the articles of impeachment she has forced McConnell’s hand. It sounds like she is trying to manipulate the truth as she was about to forced to send the over anyway.

What we think we accomplished in the past few weeks is that we wanted the public to see the need for witnesses,” Pelosi said on ABC News’ “This Week,” marking her first public comments since ending the lengthy standoff with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Friday.

“Now the ball is in their court to either do that or pay the price,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi’s remarks on Sunday came days before the House is expected to formally hand off articles of impeachment to McConnell, launching a weeks-long spectacle in the Senate that will almost certainly result in Trump’s acquittal.

The California Democrat once again hedged on questions of timing, declining to say when House Democrat would take next steps to name their team of “managers” who will prosecute Trump in the trial.

“What I did say is that I would be consulting with my members this week,” Pelosi said, referring to a caucus-wide meeting on Tuesday morning. “We’ll determine in our meeting when we’ll send them over.”

McConnell claims he already has the votes needed to pass a resolution on how to handle the articles of impeachment. He is not buckling to the demands of the House. In fact, the Senate was in the process of passing resolutions that would force the House to pass the articles over or give them a deadline where if not met, the articles of impeachment could be dismissed entirely. So this is just more B.S. from the House.
