Sour House Dems Likely To Bring In Bolton Despite Acquittal
Trump has finally been acquitted. But it looks like the country is not going to be getting a reprieve from these senseless attacks on the president. Rep Jerry Nadler claims that the House is likely to be calling in John Bolton for questioning. Geez, at what point is this just outright harassment?
"House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that it is “likely” that the House will issue a subpoena to President Trump's former national security adviser John Bolton.
Nadler said that a final decision had not been made yet, but that the odds were that House Democrats would issue a subpoena after the Senate voted last week not to call any witnesses in Trump’s impeachment trial.
“I think it’s likely, yes,” Nadler told reporters. "We'll want to call Bolton."
Nadler elaborated that Democrats would continue their investigations even after the Senate's expected vote later Wednesday to acquit Trump on the two articles of impeachment passed by the House.
Nadler defended pursuing further investigations into the White House in an election year.
“First of all, I think when you have a lawless president, you have to bring that to the fore and you have to spotlight that. You have to protect the Constitution, whatever the political consequences. Second of all, no, as more and more lawlessness comes out, I presume the public will understand that," Nadler told reporters outside a Democratic caucus meeting."
This is after Trump was acquitted of all charges.
"The Senate overwhelmingly acquitted President Trump on both articles of impeachment against him Wednesday afternoon following a brief trial, in a historic rejection of Democrats' claims that the president's Ukraine dealings and handling of congressional subpoenas merited his immediate removal from office."
"A Gallup poll released this week showed record-high approval numbers for Trump and the Republican Party in general, suggesting the impeachment proceedings may have backfired politically for Democrats. The Republican Party's approval numbers were at their highest since 2005, and Trump's were the highest of his presidency."
The House Dems might as well just make Mad Maxine their Speaker at this point. They should at the very least give our country a break from the B.S. before they waste our time again with another senseless investigation into Trump.
