Biden has proposed another gigantic multi-trillion dollar bill. This time the bill is supposed to be primarily cover infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Biden has been reaching out to the GOP in an effort to make the bill bipartisan. He reached out to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell via phone. McConnell has heard the proposal and claims this bill is not what it seems. He claims it is a Trojan Horse full of Liberal legislation.
“He called me about it yesterday,” McConnell told reporters in Kentucky about his talk with Biden.
“Biden is proposing paying for the bill by increasing the corporate tax rate to 28 percent, as well as establishing a minimum global tax. The 2017 GOP tax bill previously lowered the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent.”
“This is not going to be apparently an infrastructure package. It’s like a Trojan horse. So it’s called infrastructure but inside the Trojan horse is going to be more borrowed money and massive tax increases,” he said.
“Officials say that the infrastructure package is the first part in a two-prong recovery package that the White House is rolling out, with the second part expected to focus on child care and health care. Biden will likely outline the second part of his plan in April.”
And that is just the bill in its current state, Dem Senators are already looking to alter it.
“Twenty-one Senate Democrats sent a Tuesday letter to Biden asking him to include recurring direct payments to individuals in his $3 trillion infrastructure plan, saying the $1,400 stimulus checks in the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill is not enough.”
This bill will likely not make it through the Senate without reconciliation. The GOP is definitely not going to help Dems pass another bill full of Liberal legislation intended to help special interest groups.
