AOC Proves Just How Far-Left She Is With Her Latest Claim About Her Own Party
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is apparently upset that her party is not left enough for her. She claims that the problem is the rest of the party is all conservative centrists. This is just how far left AOC is.
"We don't have a left party in the United States," Ocasio-Cortez said during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event. "The Democratic Party is not a left party. The Democratic Party is a center or center-conservative party. We can't even get a floor vote on Medicare for All, not even a floor vote that gets voted down. So, this is not a left party. There are left members inside the Democratic Party that are working to try to make that shift happen."
"The comments echoed an argument Ocasio-Cortez made earlier this month when she called the Democratic Party "too big of a tent."
"In any other country, Joe Biden and I would not be in the same party, but in America, we are," she said. "They let anybody who the cat dragged in call themselves a progressive."
"Democrats need to do a better job of enforcing left-wing orthodoxy by kicking out people from the Congressional Progressive Caucus who were not far left enough. "They let anybody who the cat dragged in call themselves a progressive," she said. "There's no standard."
"Ocasio-Cortez was elected to the House in 2018 after unseating Rep. Joe Crowley, 57, chairman of the Democratic caucus, who had held the seat for two decades. The young lawmaker, a socialist, immediately stationed herself as one of the most radical members of the Democratic Party."
She should just start a socialist party already. It would be great if she divided up the Democrat party. She would be doing us all a favor and could watch from the home as Republicans win elections time and time again.
