A highly disturbing video has been circulating on social media and has been viewed more than 4 million times. The footage, which is extremely hard to watch, shows a small family of 6 who gathered to ring in the New Year together being ripped from their home by Canadian police. In Gatineau, Quebec’s fourth-largest city, indoor and outdoor private gatherings are currently prohibited until Jan. 10.
Some residents in Gatineau held a private New Year’s Eve party. Neighbors snitched on the partygoers, and police arrived at the home around 11:30 p.m., according to CTV News. There were six adults inside the home preparing to ring in the new year.
Once police arrived some sort of altercation broke out and two family members were forcefully pulled out of the home. The video begins shortly after the first family member was removed, a female that can be heard screaming in agony in the background.
“At some point, they had no judgment at all. You can’t treat people like this,” Mathieu Tessier, who appears in the video, told CTV News. “The truth is…they aggressed us.”
Tessier explained that the woman who is heard screaming in the background is his mother. Adding that the only reason he got involved in the altercation is that the officers grabbed his mother by the arm and jerked her outside.
To add insult to injury, at least one of the officers sent to enforce tyrannical pandemic orders was not obeying those orders himself. He can be seen struggling with Tessier and not wearing a mask.

“The video shows only an excerpt from the intervention,” the Gatineau police tweeted in French. “The individuals were recalcitrant and refused to cooperate. The individual arrested in the video had assaulted a police officer, hitting him in the face a few times.”
Two people from the home were arrested but all six members were slapped with a $1,546 fine each, which comes to a total of $9,276 that the family will be forced to pay or face jail time. All because they wanted to spend New Years’ with the people they love most.
