Trump's Turns Up The Heat On The Deep State
President Trump took to Twitter angry about how the Dems have been relentlessly attacking him over phony evidence and fraudulent investigations. He went as far as to say he may even sue some of these slanderous Dems if it were not for his position as president.
Trump took to Twitter to express his outrage.
"These were Mueller prosecutors, and the whole Mueller investigation was illegally set up based on a phony and now fully discredited Fake Dossier, lying and forging documents to the FISA Court, and many other things. Everything having to do with this fraudulent investigation is..."
"....badly tainted and, in my opinion, should be thrown out. Even Mueller’s statement to Congress that he did not see me to become the FBI Director (again), has been proven false. The whole deal was a total SCAM. If I wasn’t President, I’d be suing everyone all over the place..."
"....BUT MAYBE I STILL WILL. WITCH HUNT!"
"The president’s tweets are likely to fuel an already-tumultuous period at the Justice Department.
Last week, Attorney General Bill Barr intervened in two cases involving Trump associates—Roger Stone and former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
The intervention in the former came after federal prosecutors recommended a sentence between 87 and 108 months in prison for Stone after he was convicted on seven counts of obstruction, witness tampering, and making false statements to Congress on charges that stemmed from Mueller’s Russia investigation.
Amid internal concerns this was overly harsh, the DOJ overruled the prosecutors on the case, scaling back the proposed sentence for Stone, which led several prosecutors to quit the case and Democrats to accuse Trump of interfering in the process -- by earlier tweeting about his displeasure with the Justice Department. Trump denied it.
Trump has shown no inclination to stop tweeting about DOJ cases, as demonstrated on Tuesday."
Trump is within his rights to express outrage over such an excessive ruling. He even tweeted saying that he was not interfering with any case, just pointing out such a long sentence was not just. And anyone in his position, that was not the president, would likely be suing for slander after all of these attacks on his character. Our president is human after all and has to deal with the aftermath of all of these bogus slights.
