This is a massive win for the women of South Dakota. The Biden Administration really failed women in trying to pander to the LGBTQ. Biden made it so transwomen can join in female sports really destroying any sort of equality that was found by separating male and female sports. But South Dakota, in an act of defiance and support of women, has made things right for at least the women in their state.
She tweeted about the accomplishment.
“In South Dakota, we’re celebrating #InternationalWomensDay by defending women’s sports! I’m excited to sign this bill very soon.”
“A bill that would ban transgender women and girls from competing on the sports teams that match their gender identity was passed by the South Dakota Senate on Monday.
Senate Bill 1217 passed by a 20-15 vote Monday.
The ACLU of South Dakota testified against the bill, stating it violates the United States Constitution and federal civil rights laws.
“In an attempt to ‘level the playing field,’ House Bill 1217 excludes an entire group of women and girls from meaningful participation in sports,” said Jett Jonelis, ACLU of South Dakota advocacy manager.”
“…South Dakota “will be the first state this year to pass legislation of this sort.” However, the Mississippi House passed a bill 81-28 earlier this month to prohibit transgender athletes from competing on girls’ and women’s sports teams.”
“President Biden issued an executive order in January calling for schools nationwide to allow students to participate on sports teams that align with their chosen gender identity.”
“White House Press Secretary Psaki said that “the president’s belief is that trans rights are human rights.”
No one is saying that transgendered are not people with rights. This is more of a matter of what is fair. No one is saying there can’t be transgendered teams. But trans people don’t want that, they want to be accepted as women, but really when it comes to sports and privacy that is just not fair to actual females. Women should not lose their rights to less than 1% of the population.
