She Locked Her Family In The House For Over Three Years, And They Have Finally Been…

A young Indian mother locked herself up with her child in an apartment for three years because she was convinced the boy would die of Covid-19 as soon as he set foot outside the home.

COVID-19 struck fear into the hearts of millions of people when it first emerged in Wuhan, China. As the viral infection quickly spread across the globe, it turned into a pandemic, forcing billions of people to stay indoors for weeks on end. In America, former President Donald Trump shut down the country, and the economy ground to a halt under Republican leadership.

But few people were as terrified as Munmun Majhi, a 33-year-old mother, and her son. The two of them remained locked inside their apartment in Gurugram, Haryana State, India for three years to avoid catching COVID and getting sick. In what can only be described as an extreme case of Covid-19 paranoia.

Majhi was so scared of COVID-19 that she didn’t let her husband, Sujan Majhi, enter their own home after he returned from work one day during the nationwide lockdown. Sujan eventually contacted the police to report what his wife had done to him. But the cops didn’t believe him, and he was forced to stay with relatives and friends because his wife refused to let him back into the house.

Despite years passing, Majhi continued to deny her husband access to their home. She had become so afraid of catching COVID-19 that she didn’t let anyone inside.

Finally, Sujan called the police for help to get access to his house and family. He hadn’t seen his wife or son in person for three years when he placed the call. The officer arrived at the home and spoke with Majhi, who refused to come out, saying that she and her son were “absolutely fit.”

After a video call, the officer saw Majhi’s son and became emotional. For the entirety of their three-year lockdown, the child had not had contact with another person besides his mother. He had spent his time drawing on the walls and doing other little things to keep himself busy.

The officer tried to convince Majhi to come out, telling her that he was there to help. He asked her if she needed any assistance, and he continued to talk to her until she started to trust him. Eventually, they convinced the mother to let down her guard, and they took her and her son to a hospital for psychiatric care.

Sujan is overjoyed to have access to his family and home again. He’s happy that they are out and receiving treatment. He hopes that his life will be back on track soon.

The story of Munmun Majhi and her son is one of the extreme measures people took during the pandemic to avoid getting sick. It’s a reminder of the fear and uncertainty that gripped the world as COVID-19 spread. While most people were able to continue their lives with some modifications, others like Majhi and her son, were not. They were trapped in their own home, isolated from the world outside, and unable to move on with their lives.

It’s also a story of the power of compassion and understanding. The police officer who helped rescue Majhi and her son didn’t judge them for their fear. Instead, he listened to them, talked to them, and helped them find the courage to seek help. It’s a reminder that, even in the darkest of times, there is always hope, and that compassion and understanding can help us overcome our fears and anxieties.
