Reporter Asks Trump The Oddest Question Yet
During this pandemic, Trump has advised that people practice social distancing and is urging people to stay at home until this virus runs its course. Essential businesses are staying open like grocery stores, gas stations, and medical-related facilities, which makes perfect sense. During a recent press conference, a reporter asked Trump why he doesn't order grocery stores be closed... There is an easy answer there that I think he must be overlooking...That being people need the grocery stores to survive, but that's just the start of where the reporter was wrong.
"It was at 8:02 p.m. Eastern when the briefing took a bizarre turn when EWTN's Owen Jensen asked Trump if even essential businesses are closed to further social distance:
Yeah, you know, obviously, we know anyone can spread the disease, alright? Unwittingly. So why not have a few businesses open? Why not just shut everything down. There are grocery stores that are open, fast food places. Why even take a little chance? Just shut it all down until we’re through.
Surprisingly, the President didn’t explode, instead calmly responding: “Well, we’re going to have to --- we’ll answer that question later. All I can say is that, right now, things are looking really good and opening up with a bang would be a great thing and there's nobody going to be happier than me.”
Watch The Clip Below.
Video: As many people have already pointed out on here, a reporter actually asked Trump about shutting down essential businesses like grocery stores. Seriously.

"It’s a dumb question, but perhaps not for the reason most think. The federal government doesn’t have the authority to shut down grocery stores, or most other businesses, for that matter. The administration has issued and updated guidelines for how to conduct business in the pandemic crisis, but it’s up to governors to decide how to implement them. A handful of governors haven’t yet issued stay-at-home orders at all, but most if not all have limited people to “essential” businesses, which includes grocery stores, pharmacies, and a limited number of other places of business. That question should be aimed at governors, not the president, in our federalist republic."
So the reporter was just way off, but perhaps this was just another attempt to blame Trump for the Corona Virus and it's continued spread. You never know with the media these days.
