Rep Maxine Water has been pushing her angry anti-Trump tirades for years now. But Trump was not the only target of her scorn. She also came down on Trump supporters claiming that people should harass them to the point that they can’t get out of their cars to get gas or go shopping. But now she claims that the most she ever said was to make them feel unwelcome. But that’s not the case at all.
During an interview on MSNBC Rep. Maxine Water tried to backpedal her hate claiming she said nothing to rile up liberals against Trump supporters.
“As a matter of fact, if you look at the words that I used, the strongest thing I said was tell them they’re not welcome,” Waters said. “[I said] Talk to them. Tell them they’re not welcome. I didn’t say go and fight. I didn’t say anybody was going to have any violence. And so they can’t make that stick.”
However, in 2018, after then-Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and former press secretary Sarah Sanders were confronted with their families in public over family separation at the border, Waters encouraged more of the same.
“They’re not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they’re not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they’re not going to be able to shop at a department store,” she said.
She added: “The people are going to turn on them, they’re going to protest, they’re going to absolutely harass them.”
Waters is constantly spewing out hate especially whenever she is talking about Trump. But since Dems have decided that they are going to sanction anyone with what they view as “extreme views” she is just trying to cover her bases here with a firm denial. But really Dems/Libs are likely not going to do anything to their most radical members: Waters or Omar. They likely agree with them. But GOP members they find extreme are open game because they have the majority and no foresight.
