LAPD Official Demands Leaders "Stop Bowing Down" To Bullies
Police officers spend their entire careers protecting the public from criminals. They put their lives on the line to keep us safe. But with the defund the police movement they are being demonized by the MSM and protesters. Sadly it seems local governments, especially in blue states, are bowing to these protester's demands, giving in to the madness. During an interview with FOX News' Harris Faulkner, Robert Harris, director of the Los Angeles Police Protective League addressed the weak leadership that is hurting the LAPD.
"Retired police officers are launching a political action committee ... to help elect pro-police candidates. Do you think that that's necessary?" Faulkner asked.
Harris responded by insisting that everything is "on the table."
"I think everything is on the table at this point," Harris answered. "I think if we are actually going to move forward and try to find some real solutions that improve police-public outcomes that help to professionalize our profession we can have those conversations. ... But I think it's important for leaders to behave like leaders, and to stop bowing down and doing the flip-flopping that we see just because of bully tactics from some individuals within our communities."
He has a point here, the LAPD has lost 150 million dollars from their budget during a chaotic time in our country when cops are needed more than ever. But the LAPD is not alone in taking a hit from this anti-police movement. New York City cut 1 Billion from their budget which has led to mass retirement from officers that are just fed up with the leadership and community that doesn't understand how essential they are.
It's only a matter of time until communities start feeling the effects of the anti-police crusade, New York is already seeing a spike in crime, but I am sure the liberal leaders are not going to take the blame for defunding the very people that could help prevent that.
