Govt Waste On Full Display: You Won't Believe How Much California Is Paying For This...
California is definitely not a shining example of a well lead state. They have wildfires regularly because they will not properly tend to their forests, largely because of the green movement. California also has a booming homeless population because they can't build a shelter for less than half a million dollars. This homeless population leaves their waste everywhere, so they have people there that are paid really well to remove human excrement from the sidewalks and streets weekly. But during this pandemic, San Francisco made a safe area to temporarily house the homeless with tents in order to try and prevent the spread of the Corona Virus. But in typical California fashion, they are paying $5000 per tent and they have over 200 tents...
"San Francisco is paying $16.1 million to feed and house people in tent villages..."
"That $16 million per year works out to $61,000 per tent or $5,000 per month."
"The 262 tents currently house more than 300 people, with some vacancies. The villages also provide access to bathrooms, meals, and 24-hour security, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday.
The funding is only a fraction of the more than $300 million the city spends annually on homeless services, and the average cost per night is less than what the city pays under a program to shelter homeless people in hotels, the Chronicle said."
So on top of all the frivolous spending, California has also been very strict when it comes to COVID with Lockdowns comparable to New York's. Their leaders have been just hypocritical too, telling citizens not to congregate and then being caught doing the very thing they warn against. The excessive spending and failure to properly tend to the State has led many Californians to petition to remove Governor Newsom from Office. But really can you blame them? There is no reason it should cost them $5000 a month for a person to live in a tent. These are not luxury hotel rooms, what are they feeding them, lobster and caviar?
