This pandemic has hurt America in many ways. There was of course the tragic loss of lives, especially in blue states for some reason and then there was the economy tanking largely due to the extreme measures some leaders were taking to try and prevent the spread of the virus. New York was hit the hardest with the highest number of infected and deaths. This was primarily because of Governor Cuomo and his poor judgment in allowing infected people into nursing homes. But for some reason, despite his mistake that cost a multitude of Americans their lives, Cuomo is now being praised for his hard work in combating this virus. He is being given an International Emmy. Rep Crenshaw heard about it bashed Cuomo for it
Crenshaw took to Twitter to express his outrage over Cuomo getting an award when his state had the worst numbers.
“I think the International Emmys are confusing “highest death count” and “putting COVID patients back into nursing homes” categories with the “best performance” category.”

“Governor Andrew M. Cuomo of New York will receive this year’s International Emmy® Founders Award, in recognition of his leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic and his masterful use of television to inform and calm people around the world. The Emmy® will be presented to Governor Cuomo, also a New York Times best-selling author, during the Academy’s live, International Emmy® Awards show streaming at 11 AM ET, on the Academy’s website www.iemmys.tv, on November 23.
“The Governor’s 111 daily briefings worked so well because he effectively created television shows, with characters, plot lines, and stories of success and failure,” said International Academy President & CEO, Bruce L. Paisner. “People around the world tuned in to find out what was going on, and New York tough became a symbol of the determination to fight back.”
The Founder’s Award is presented to an individual or organization who “crosses cultural boundaries to touch our common humanity”. Prior recipients include Vice President Al Gore, Oprah Winfrey, and Steven Spielberg.”
There have been almost 34k deaths in New York and 607k cases. It seems odd to give Cuomo an award for anything when it comes to this pandemic. Is this like a participation trophy for liberals? Crenshaw is pointing out the absurdity with his tweet and really as cases of COVID are now on the rise, no one should be getting props.
