Dems, The GOP, and Americans alike couldn’t understand why Pelosi would not take Trump’s deal that met Dem’s in the middle. In fact, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer even asked Pelosi not to let “the perfect be the enemy of the good” as he questioned the Speaker of the House. Pelosi claimed that Trump’s deal was nowhere near enough, but now she agreed to the GOP’s $900 Billion dollar deal, a far cry from even Trump’s middle of the road deal. CNN asked Pelosi why she didn’t take Trump’s deal and she is refusing to answer.
CNN’s Manu Raju commented about Pelosi refusing to answer.
“Pelosi wouldn’t answer my question about why the $900 billion deal is more acceptable to her than the $1.8 trillion offer Mnuchin made to her this fall,” CNN’s Manu Raju said. “Pelosi wouldn’t call on me at the press conference, which is becoming a pattern, even though just five reporters were there. She left the press conference as I asked her the question. And she ignored my question in the hallway as well.”
“Asked again in the hallways why this proposal is more acceptable than the Mnuchin plan, Pelosi didn’t respond. But Schumer, who was walking with her in the hallway, said: ‘Ask Mitch McConnell,’” Raju continued. “It’s true that McConnell and Senate Republicans objected to Mnuchin’s $1.8 trillion plan, but so did Pelosi, who said in October: ‘This proposal amounted to one step forward, two steps back.’”
But it turns out Pelosi was willing to answer just not CNN. During an interview with TIME Magazine, she admitted she was holding back the bill on purpose and not to get more money, but to spite Trump.
“What changed? Two things said the Speaker. A vaccine appears nearing delivery. And Joe Biden won the White House.
“That was not a mistake, it was a decision,” Pelosi said of her choice to demand for months a deal three times as large as what she’s now settling for. “That is a total game-changer — a new President and a vaccine.”
So she is admitting that she let Americans suffer just so that she could stick it to Trump. Trump already had the vaccine streamlined so it’s not really news that it came out so early, in fact, Trump was hoping to get it to us before the election. So really Pelosi hurt Americans to spite Trump, likely in hopes of hurting his chances of re-election. But I guess this is her way of serving Americans…
