Biden Tells Trump Appointees To Resign Or Else
It looks like Biden is clearly looking for someone to be angry at over his Afghanistan blunder. So he is taking it out on Trump-appointed officials. Biden gave them a resign or prepare to be terminated notice. When asked about the decision Psaki got snarky about it and mocked the people Trump appointed. A real class act, that one.
Reporter: "Quick question: Can the White House confirm that it has asked appointees from the last administration to resign from various boards, including the West Point Advisory Board and the Naval Academy Board, and why?"
Psaki: "Yes, we have. And the President’s objective is what any president’s objective is: is — was to ensure you have nominees and people serving on these boards who are qualified to serve on them and who are aligned with your values. And so, yes, that was an ask that was made."
Reporter: "Is there any concern that because a lot of these appointees do go across administrations, that there is a risk of politicizing these non- — traditionally non-controversial positions?"
Psaki: "Well, I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified or not political to serve on these boards.
But the President’s qualification requirements are not your party registration; they are whether you’re qualified to serve and whether you’re aligned with the values of this administration."
Kellyann Conway responded to Biden's demand on Twitter:
"It is an honor to serve on the Board of Visitors to the United States Air Force Academy. The brave men and women in uniform represent the best of our great nation. It was also a privilege to serve a President whose actions resulted in the deaths of terrorists like al-Baghdadi and Qasem Soleimani, rather than a President whose actions resulted in
the deaths of 13 U.S.service members. I'm not resigning, but you should."
Spicer also responded.
Instead of focusing on the stranded Americans left in #Afghanistan, President Biden is trying to terminate the Trump appointees to the Naval Academy, West Point and Air Force Academy.

This is by no means normal for a president to fire officials appointed by a previous president, but Biden can do this if he pleases since he is president. I guess this is more of that unity Biden was telling America he would be all about...
