Joe Biden has had an odd presidential campaign. Dems hid him for months and it seems only after he was egged on by the media that he came out of his basement to get on the campaign trail. A big part of this is because Biden is likely not all there upstairs. Dems have been going out of their way to keep this under wraps, but he makes too many gaffes and there are times when he doesn’t make any sense. Dems even went as far as to try and give him an out and prevent him from having to debate Trump. So Biden was once again asked about the elephant in the room, his mental well-being, and he tried to redirect it at Trump, but in true Biden fashion, bungled it.
During an interview with an NBC affiliate, Biden had the following exchange:
“For those North Carolina voters … who may question whether you are physically, mentally fit for this job, how do you respond right now?
Biden: Watch me. I am not the guy who said to inject bleach in your arm. You want to talk about who know — and I do know the difference between truth and lies. Between good and bad. Between hope and fear.”
He reiterated the lie later on in another interview.
“Look at all the lies [Trump]’s told already,” he said. “All the ridiculous things he’s said — inject bleach in your arm, you may be able to get rid of it — I mean, why would anybody believe him?”
This is just not true. Here’s what Trump actually said:
At no point does Trump suggest anyone should start injecting themselves with bleach. He theorizes that it would be neat if there was a way to use disinfectant to kill the Corona Virus and that doctors will have to figure that out. But at no point was he directing the American people to shoot up bleach. The problem here is that with Biden you can’t tell if he is lying to slander Trump, or if he actually believes the nonsense he was spewing. I can’t wait to watch this presidential debate. Are they just going to give Biden an earpiece and tell him what to say, or is Trump going to let Biden have a teleprompter?
