A Florida fisherman got the shock of his life when he discovered that the catch at the end of his line was not the expected white tarpon, but rather a large and dangerous alligator.
In a video that has since gone viral on YouTube, the fisherman initially mistakes the alligator for a log floating in the water. However, as it begins to move, he realizes the severity of the situation and retreats from the lakeside toward the mainland, with the alligator hot on his heels.
Around the 50-second mark of the video, the alligator chases the man back ashore, eyeing him as potential prey. The fisherman toys with the gator, his heart racing as it attempts to chase him down. At approximately 1:30 into the video, the alligator finally decides to abandon its pursuit and returns to the water. Undeterred, the man continues to shout and call out to the creature, attempting to capture its attention.
When the alligator splashes back into the lake, the fisherman breathes a sigh of relief and admits that he is leaving the area, no longer wanting to risk his life around Florida’s dangerous wildlife.
