Uncle Ben’s Rice Is A Clear Sign That BLM Is Failing To Get Their Message Across

Black Lives Matters’ intention is supposedly to make people more aware of the struggles of black people. They have been protesting over police brutality with the case of George Floyd and have lost their way when it comes to the “Defund the Police” movement because that just doesn’t make sense no matter how you look at it… But liberals are pandering in every way they can think of. N.Y. Mayor DeBlasio had a BLM mural painted in front of Trump Tower and slashed the police budget by a billion dollars. Sports Teams have changed their names to be more P.C. and food companies have been re-evaluating their brands to ensure they are not being offensive. In some cases, there may have been some racially offensive beginning for some brands, but Uncle Ben’s Rice is not one of them. But they still changed their Brand removing the black man in fear of being offensive. How does that help BLM’s cause if companies are just avoiding black mascots now to try and be P.C.?

“Mars Inc. has renamed its Uncle Ben’s rice products “Ben’s Original,” making it the latest food producer to ditch a brand steeped in racist imagery.

The Virginia-based company is also scrapping the portrait of a white-haired black man that has adorned its rice boxes for decades — an image that’s long been criticized as a racist stereotype.”

The “racist” origins:

“The Uncle Ben’s brand was established in the 1940s and originally named for a “legendary” Texas rice farmer, according to an archived page on its website. The portrait long used on the box was that of Frank Brown, the maitre d’ of a Chicago restaurant who agreed to pose for the brand, the page says.”

So what black people can’t be legendary rice farmers now? This is the kind of change that BLM has created. That’s not a change out of understanding or respect, it’s change out of fear. Mars Inc was afraid they would be called racist for having a black mascot selling rice. Looks like their cause is doing a lot of good… And don’t even get me started on the “Defund The Police” B.S… How does that even make sense? Let’s defund the police so that they can’t hire educated people anymore, and can’t afford to properly train officers, because that’s not in the budget. Can’t wait to see what other “brilliant” ideas come out of BLM.
