Turncoat? Republican Senator Attacks McConnell And Welcomes Impeachment Witnesses
The articles of impeachment are still being held by the House as Dems are hoping to force the Senate to do their bidding. McConnell has already said that he feels this is a waste of time on the part of the House Dems and admits he is biased. But that shouldn't be an issue considering how biased the House is when it comes to Trump. McConnell is not looking to appease the House Dems, so the impeachment will likely be thrown out quickly, as long as the Senate Republicans can hold it together. But Senators like Susan Collins may draw out the process. Senator Susan Collins is no longer agreeing with her party, since she not only wants to call in witnesses, she thinks McConnell is wrong for saying he is biased.
"I am open to witnesses,” Collins told the Maine Republic, departing markedly from Republican Senate leadership on the issue. “I think it’s premature to decide who should be called until we see the evidence that is presented and get the answers to the questions that we senators can submit through the Chief Justice to both sides.”
But she didn't stop there as she went after the Senate Majority leader for admitting he is biased.
“It is inappropriate, in my judgment, for senators on either side of the aisle to prejudge the evidence before they have heard what is presented to us, because each of us will take an oath, an oath that I take very seriously to render impartial justice. That’s what it says, impartial justice. And I have heard Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, saying that the President should be impeached, found guilty, and removed from office,” Collins went on.
“I’ve heard the Senate Majority leaders saying that he’s taking his cues from the White House,” she quipped. “There are senators on both sides of the aisle, who, to me, are not giving the appearance of and the reality of judging that’s in an impartial way.”

The whole House was biased against Trump. They had legal expert Jonathan Turley go on record claiming this impeachment was based on emotions, not evidence. It's a biased impeachment... Hopefully, the rest of the Senate Republicans can continue to see reason.
