This Starbucks Employee Had A Meltdown About A Long Shift, The Hours He Was Asked To Work Will…

Working at a coffee shop can be demanding, especially during peak hours. However, for one Starbucks employee, the stress of a long shift became too much to handle, leading to a shocking meltdown that left both customers and coworkers in disbelief.

Eva Sunshine, a 20-year-old transgender man who goes by the name Evan works at Starbucks and was scheduled for an eight-hour shift at the popular coffee chain. Feeling overwhelmed with the prospect of working such a long shift, Evan recorded a video in which he broke down in tears, sharing his struggles with the job.

In the video, which was uploaded to Twitter on October 29, 2022, Evan talked about how he wanted the shift to be slow and for the coffee shop to lose money due to a lack of sales. However, the shop was quite busy, and Evan was expected to work hard to satisfy all the thirsty customers.

“I’m literally about to quit. I don’t know if I’m going to do it, but I want to,” Evan said in the video. “I almost walked out today, and I’m crying in the backroom now, and I almost cried on the floor.”

Evan is a full-time college student who works at Starbucks part-time. He is usually scheduled for around 25 hours per week, but on weekends, he is scheduled for the entire day – from open to close. During the eight-hour shift that he recorded the video for, he had already been working for three and a half hours and was struggling to keep up with the influx of customers.

“We have four people on the floor all day. Only five people were put on the schedule, and one had to call out. Only four people are in the whole store, and there are so many customers,” Evan said in the video.

Evan’s emotional breakdown in the video has since gone viral, with many people expressing both sympathy and mockery towards him. While some empathize with Evan, pointing to minimum wages as part of the problem, others criticize him for “complaining” about having to work an eight-hour shift. However, regardless of people’s opinions about the video, it highlights the struggles that many Starbucks workers face every day.

Many Starbucks workers work long hours and earn low wages, struggling to make ends meet even though they are employed in what might seem like a “good” job. Evan’s video serves as an important reminder that many people, including those with jobs that seem desirable, are still facing financial difficulties.

In response to the video, a Starbucks spokesperson said: “We take the concerns of our partners seriously and are committed to creating a positive work environment. Our goal is to make sure every partner feels supported, heard, and valued.”

The spokesperson also noted that Starbucks offers benefits such as healthcare, stock options, and a 401(k) savings plan to its employees.

Evan’s video has started a conversation about the need for fair wages and better working conditions for Starbucks employees, and it serves as a reminder that we should all be mindful of the struggles that others might be facing, even if we don’t necessarily understand or relate to them ourselves.
