This Democratic Candidate Pulled A Kaepernick During National Anthem At Democratic Debate
In Kaepernick fashion, one Democratic candidate decided to show how anti-American he is.
During the Democratic debate on Tuesday, Representative Tim Ryan decided not to place his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.
According to Fox News,
Democratic presidential contender Tim Ryan stood out as the only candidate who didn't put his hand on his heart during a performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the opening of Tuesday night's debate in Detroit, prompting commentators to zing the marginal candidate even before opening statements began.
Ryan, D-Ohio, stood alongside South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, author Marianne Williamson, former Maryland Rep. John Delaney, former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, and Montana Gov. Steve Bullock.
As the national anthem played, Ryan was the only candidate to stand with his hands clasped in front of his body, rather than at his chest.

One person commented on the protest saying,
"As someone who actually knows where his District is, having lived there, I am glad to see the mask slip off. For years this communist has portrayed himself as a reasonable moderate Democrat to trick the hard working people of the Mahoning Valley (Youngstown/Warren Ohio area), many of whom are union and used to be steel workers before people like him let those jobs go to China. He can't hide what he is any more! If Democrats didn't have double standards they wouldn't have any standards at all."
Many other shared their dislike on Twitter,
Meghan McCain tweeted, "Put your hand over your heart for the star spangled banner Tim Ryan!!!"

Ari Fleischer tweeted, "Rep. Tim Ryan didn’t put his hand over his heart during the national anthem. I guess he’s appealing to the Kaepernick wing of the Democratic Party."

One user's comment was particularly amusing:
Why is no one kneeling in solidarity with Kaepernick?

I'm not sure what kind of message he was trying to get across, but I'm pretty sure that's going to be his last debate.
