They Rented A Home To A Section Eight Family, How They Left It Is Absolutely Sickening….

A landlord leaped at the chance to sign up for a scheme that would have the government pay for a portion of their mortgage payment. But the landlord had to let Section 8 residents into the lovely house in order to use the government funds. But unfortunately for the landlord, the tenants who ended up residing in the rental did not treat it with the appropriate respect.

One guy chose to share the unpleasant story of how the tenant demolished the entire two-story building after securing a decent price to rent it in a thread on Reddit.

Renting to Section 8 is a bad idea, according to the landlord, saying:

“This is why good landlords will not rent to Section 8 people. They always wreck their rentals, lower housing prices in the area, and have the cops show up every few nights because of various domestic disturbances and drug offenses.”

Well, many section 8 tenants are simply seeking a way to save money on their rent so they may better themselves and their quality of life. It is clear that this person’s depiction stereotypes Section 8 tenants and is not entirely accurate.

The following comment was made in reaction to the earlier statement from a person who grew up in Section 8 housing.

My family grew up in Section 8 housing. We never trashed or ruined houses. We just needed the help because of my parents’ divorce and my sister’s health problems. Now that it’s just my mom and sister they’re trying to move closer to her doctors, and no one will take section 8.”

The online social-sharing forum Reddit received a large number of comments from viewers of the unsettling footage. The most remarkable comments posted by viewers like you are shown here.

“Good lord. I want to cry for this guy. The house was beautiful before they f***ed it all up. It would probably put me off ever renting again if I was him.”

There are a lucky few who receive the cream of the crop, which means they have peace of mind that is worth every penny, while some people have horrible luck with tenants.

“I’m renting out a one-bedroom beach condo to a couple, and I’ve been charging them around $250 below market price for the last 5 years. Why? Because they are fantastic, reliable tenants. Heck, sometimes the guy just fixes small things on his own (with my permission) because they know they are getting a great deal. I’ll do a walkthrough every 18 months or so, and it’s always in great condition. The piece of mind I get is worth it to me, especially since I live in another state,” one wrote.

As tenants trashed the property, it is really unfortunate for the landlord. Finding tenants who will respect and care for their property is a priority for landlords. But not everyone is successful in finding renters as good as the landlord of the beach condo who left the previous comment.
