Squad Dem Pressley Says Inmates Lives Are More Important Than Yours
Vaccine doses are in high demand and many are now arguing about who should get the first doses. Last week CNN's Cuomo even complained saying that he felt New Yorkers should get more doses than Florida despite the higher elderly population in the sunshine state. But it seems there is a rational order right now of essential workers first, but Rep. Ayanna Pressley feels that incarcerated men and women should be "prioritized in the distribution of the vaccine." So criminals should get the vaccine before law abiding citizens...
Rep Pressley said as much during an appearance on CNN.
"I'm going to continue to fight for our most vulnerable communities who have been disproportionately impacted by the virus, for our health care workers, for our essential workers, for incarcerated men and women to be prioritized in the distribution of the vaccine," Pressley claimed.

"Some Democratic state leaders have pushed back on the prioritization. Colorado governor Jared Polis said there was "no way" incarcerated people would get the vaccine before the general populace.
"There's no way it's going to go to prisoners before it goes to people who haven't committed any crime," Polis said. "That's obvious."
In addition to calling for inmates to be prioritized, Pressley pressured Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker (R.) to release prison inmates because of COVID-19 outbreaks."
I bet incarcerated people would also like lobster and steaks on the regular. While we are catering to them perhaps they also should get some pillowtop mattresses and silk sheets. This is ridiculous. The incarcerated are not there because they are our best and brightest. No, they committed crimes and are being punished for whatever the crimes may be. Prisons should simply make sure they practice COVID safety guidelines to the best of their abilities and have guards/visitors be tested before entering. They should also isolate any of the infected. But in no way should they be jumping the line to get vaccinations before law-abiding citizens.
