Most States have some sort of lockdown in place in order to flatten the curve. So that means most of us are working from home and getting a lot more quality time if we are lucky enough to retain our jobs during the pandemic. This change takes some getting used to but it is not the end of the world. But Hollyweird actors are going nuts, making all sorts of claims about how they feel imprisoned or complaining about how anyone could parent for 24 hours a day. All of this commotion has led to British Celebrity Ricky Gervais speaking up for the average Joe as he can’t see what the big fuss is.
“During an interview with The Sun, the co-creator of The Office, berated the well-heeled stars, saying: “After this is over I never want to hear people moaning about the welfare state again, I never want to hear people moaning about nurses again. Or porters.”
“These people are doing 14-hour shifts and not complaining. Wearing masks, and being left with sores, after risking their own health and their families’ health selflessly. But then I see someone complaining about being in a mansion with a swimming pool. And, you know, honestly, I just don’t want to hear it,” he added.”
Gervais is right celebs have no room to complain.
Celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Justin Timberlake have been complaining about the quarantine.
DeGeneres jokingly claimed it was like being in jail.
“One thing that I’ve learned from being in quarantine is that people — this is like being in jail, is what it is,” she said. “It’s mostly because I’ve been wearing the same clothes for 10 days and everyone in here is gay.”
And Timberlake made the ridiculous parenting comment.
“We’re mostly commiserating over the fact that just 24-hour parenting is just not human,” Timberlake said, adding that the need for space goes both ways, as his son needs a break from him as well.
These Celebrities are clearly out of touch when it comes to how Americans live and it shows. Since when is parenting not a 24 hrs/ 7 days a week job? Only the rich who can afford nannies would feel as Timberlake does and DeGeneres although joking is also being a little extreme. Our homes are not prisons, they are where our families and possessions reside. These celebs need to pick up a hobby and learn how to spend time with their loved ones. Time is fleeting, we should all be taking advantage of the extra time we are gaining with our loved ones.
No kidding. Gwyneth Paltrow was complaining about trying to find a “quiet place” in her mansion to get away from her husband of two years and her grown kids. Ricky Gervais is so right on target about these elitists in Hollywood. And even though they have ZERO clue about real suffering, I’m glad they have had to deal with some minor inconveniences. Of course they will NEVER appreciate anything outside themselves and each other.
Ricky Gervais is on the money. One thing I like about him is that if it stinks…he says it does…and he has no pity on anyone, regardless.
