Refusing To Accept The Facts California Doubles Down On Lockdowns
Many Americans are still struggling during this pandemic which is probably why Trump is trying to raise the $600 stimulus checks to $2000. But a big part of why Americans are struggling to food on the table comes from the restrictive lockdowns that many Dem leaders have put in place. California and New York have put forth some of the toughest but for some reason, despite their overreaching demands they have had the worst numbers when it comes to COVID cases. California is experiencing this again as they have the highest number of cases right now and also are probably one of the most restrictive States, which has led many to ask are these lockdowns really working? But California's answer to the surge is more restrictive measures...Talk about a nanny state.
Cheryl Chumley of the Washington Times weighed in on this issue.
"In California, all of America can plainly see that all these government-imposed restrictions on individual freedoms and activities are purely political in nature. There’s nothing scientific about them. There’s nothing fact-based or medically sound to show with them.
“Stay-at-home orders were extended Tuesday for two large parts of California as hospitals have been severely strained by surging Covid-19 cases, health officials said,” NBC News just reported. “Most of the state is under regional stay-at-home orders that have required some businesses, like bars, wineries and hair salons, to close and have reduced capacity in others.”
Well, if the restrictions have worked, if the restrictions do indeed work at all, why the spike in coronavirus case counts?
That’s the common sense questions the Democrats in California can’t seem to answer with any sort of certainty. The best they offer is that residents haven’t abided by the stay-at-home, stay-out-of-work, stay-off-the-streets orders as completely as they should have — so it’s the residents’ own fault that the government has to issue more restrictions. That’s not good enough. That’s not an answer.
That’s not an excuse to strip freedoms and steal constitutional rights."
She has a point the lockdowns don't seem to be working and a big part of that is that they are not practical unless people can afford to do them. These Dem leaders are so disconnected from their people that they don't understand that they can't afford to stay home, they need to work and put food on the table. So instead of putting more restrictions in place, Californian Leaders should be focusing on what is actually feasible and helps prevent the spread of the virus at the same time. But that's asking a lot from a state that can't even handle its homeless population.
