Rand Paul Tries To Talk Sense To Dems Over COVID Bill: Let 'People Live Again'
Senator Rand Paul attempted to reason with borrowing happy Dems in the face of falling COVID-19 numbers. Paul is only asking Democrats delay the bill now that numbers are starting to fall dramatically. "We really ought to delay this whole COVID bailout thing because it's just $2 trillion more of borrowing," Paul said.
"There was a doctor two days ago in The Wall Street Journal saying this could be gone by April," the Kentucky Republican said on Fox News' "America Reports." "I know that sounds optimistic but count me in the optimistic club."
Instead, Paul proposed that it's time to push forward with our lives and open the economy back up, "letting people live again."
"We may be at about 100 million or so with immunity now and I don't know, the numbers are coming down dramatically, so I think there is a lot of good news," said Paul.
Paul also noted that the numbers are on a dramatic decline despite Biden's horridice immigration policies insinuating that Biden is a hypocrit for reopenining a detenion center for children when the adminstration claimed it was 'inhumane' during Trump's presidency.
"Count me (as) one who thinks that there is a load of hypocrisy going on here," said Paul.
the Senator also brought up the Right-To-Work act that was introduced last week hoping the bill will pass and give Americans a 'cometive advange' on the global market. Urging lawmakers that the time to strike is now.
"People would still be able to organize," he said. "I'm not against collective bargaining. There is value in using your leverage."
Paul them condemned forced unions saying that he will fight to keep workers who refuse to join a union from being fired:"as much about freedom for the worker than it is about anything ... the unions will have an incentive to work harder and appease the workers because they would have to get the workers' vote instead of all being forced to give dues."
The Senator didn't end there. Paul questioned why Democratic Rep Eric Swalwell of California isn't at least being investigated for his suspected ties with a Chinese spy.
"Not only are they not punishing him or investigating it, but they also had the audacity to send him over as a House impeachment manager to lecture us on how bad Donald Trump was," said Paul. "Without question, he should be suspended ... but (House Speaker) Nancy Pelosi is just sweeping this one under the rug."
