The Trump impeachment is surprisingly still going on in the Senate despite there being no chance that it will go through. The Dems know this but are hoping they can convince GOP members that Trump incited a riot. But anyone with any sense knows that’s not the case at all. Fox News Host Chris Wallace recently interviewed Senator Rand Paul and they discussed the frivolous impeachment attempt by Dems. During the discussion, Paul went as far as to suggest impeaching Senator Schumer.
Wallace asked Paul If President trump bears “any responsibility for the attack on the Capitol on January 6th.”
Paul started off by saying he opposed overturning the election with Congress or the VP before diving in.
“But I think If we’re going to criminalize speech, and somehow impeach everybody who says, ‘ Oh, Go fight to hear your voices heard,’ I mean really we ought to impeach Chuck Schumer then,” Paul replied to Wallace. “He went to the Supreme Court, stood in front of the Supreme Court, and said specifically, ‘Hey Gorsuch, Hey Kavanaugh, you’ve unleashed a whirlwind. And you’re going to pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you continue with these awful decisions.'”
“This inflammatory wording, this violent rhetoric of Chuck Schumer was so bad that the chief justice, who rarely says anything publicly, immediately said this kind of language is dangerous as a mob tried to invade the Supreme Court,” Paul continued. “So if people want to hold President Trump accountable for language there has to be a consistent standard and to my mind, it’s a partisan farce because they are not doing anything to Chuck Schumer, not doing anything to Representative Omar, not doing anything to Maxine Waters. It’s just not fair, it’s just partisan politics under a different name.”

This is the difference between the Dems and GOP. The GOP knows that this is setting a dangerous precedent. But instead of accepting it and taking advantage of it later when they have the majority, they are warning Dems. This would make free speech impossible for all politicians. Trump did not direct anyone to commit a raid on the Capitol, he told them to be peaceful and patriotic. But Dems refuse to see reason.
