Liberals Turning Against Obama After He Challenges Democrats for Being #TooFarLeft

Former President Barack Obama is facing a new wave of criticism from the Democratic Party’s left flank after cautioning Democrats about going too radical with their policy proposals — in the latest sign of a growing rift between the popular 44th president and the party’s activist base.

Obama on Friday warned 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls to pay attention to what voters actually think, claiming at a gathering of Democratic donors that most of them don’t want to “tear down the system” and that many Democrats “just don’t want to see crazy stuff.” Members of his party soon turned on him, using the hashtag #TooFarLeft. Former Hillary Clinton adviser Peter Daou took to Twitter and started the hashtag #TooFarLeft

CONFESSION: I’m Too Far Left™
I’m #TooFarLeft because I want kids to be safe in school.
I’m #TooFarLeft because I want people to live in dignity.
I’m #TooFarLeft because I seek justice and equality.
I’m #TooFarLeft because I think healthcare and housing are human rights.

Not to be left out, one of the most radical of the left, Ilhan Omar tweeted her own list as well.

If being #TooFarLeft means believing:
✅ Healthcare is a human right
✅ Future generations should live on a healthy planet
✅ All student debt should be cancelled
✅ The minimum wage should be $15
✅ Lives depend on gun reform
✅ Families don’t belong in cages

Count me in! 💪🏽

One response to Omar’s tweet which summed up the views of conservatives was posted by @Beaned

If being #TooFarRight means believing:
✅ Government should stay out of our lives

Count me in!

And honestly, that’s true. But let me address Ilhan Omar’s checklist.

Healthcare, as she views it is not a right. You are not entitled to anyone taking care of you. That is a privilege. But that’s not even the biggest concern. The problem with it is that liberals want to steal money from everyone else to provide everyone in the country, including non-citizens, with government-controlled healthcare.

I agree we should be good stewards of our planet, but not at the cost of $96 TRILLION. Every day people are coming up with ways to better clean up our planet. Plus, global warming is a myth.

All student debt should not be canceled, because college shouldn’t be “free”. There is no such thing because these professors aren’t going to work for peanuts. Who is going to pay them? Tax payers of course with higher taxes.

Government shouldn’t get to decide how much I pay my employees, especially if those employees agree to work for the rate that I offer them.

I agree that lives depend on gun reform. If they further restrict the ability to own guns, more people are going to die because criminals don’t obey the law.

Families don’t need to be in cages, but I don’t hear them complaining about criminals in prison. They also don’t need to try and sneak into the country illegally. They need to go through the proper ports of entry like everyone else does and wait for their turn because it’s unfair to those doing things the right way.
