New York LGBTQ activists became triggered when they saw a field hospital with faith. The field hospital did not discriminate or do anything wrong but somehow became the target of the LGBTQ all because they were Christian.
“Samaritan’s Purse, a charitable Christian organization, has been essentially run out of New York City after opening a volunteer field hospital to help care for COVID-19 patients.
Their operation in the city was coming to an end soon in any case, as the outbreak is increasingly brought under control, but local media reports that “controversy over the group’s religious views” contributed to the decision to shut it down earlier than expected. To be clear, the “controversy” is that Samaritan’s Purse is Christian, and radical LGBT activists hate Christians. It really is that simple.
It should go without saying that Samaritan’s Purse never discriminated against any patients. It volunteered to serve and help anyone, no matter their sexual orientation, and that’s exactly what it did. But extremist gay groups like Reclaim Pride Coalition rallied to have the volunteers chased out of town, and are now celebrating the closing of a field hospital as a “victory of the LGBT community and other oppressed groups.” A member of the coalition castigated New York City for “bringing a huge, dangerous bigot into our midst,” which is perhaps an overly hostile way to describe a field hospital.
But “overly hostile” is the name of the game where these particular LGBT activists are concerned. A video posted by Reclaim Pride a few days ago features drag queen Marti Cummings ranting that Samaritan’s Purse is a “bigoted, anti-Muslim, anti-LGBTQ institution” that has “instilled bigoted beliefs into the world” (whatever that means).”
It’s odd you’d think that a group that is always worried about being discriminated against would show more tolerance for a Christian group that is doing nothing more than trying to serve the public, regardless of sexual orientation, race, or gender. It seems the LGBTQ was the intolerant party in this case and should be shamed for it. They should know better.
The leave and don’t treat any LGBTQ’s. They are a small minority of people with big mouths. Piss on them.
The really sad thing is that the hospital treated EVERYONE that came or was brought with no discrimination of any kind. No difference shown to anyone, just treatment as needed.

That is not a very Christian attitude. Jesus healed all regardless and never said a thing about what we call homosexuality. The term was not even in the English language until the early 1900’s and not used in Scripture until 1946 with the publication of the RSV translation. The original language was correctly translated as “child molester” and appropriate in the passages where found.
The words “homosexual” and “heterosexual”, and their variants, were coined in the 1890s to describe sexual attraction. Neither words describes behaviors. The word “gay” means happy. It should never be used to describe behavior. The word “lesbian” historically refers to women from the Isle of Lesbos off of Greece. The women were, from history I have read, very desired as wives due to education and other positive traits, and were held in high esteem. The words that apply to the sexual behavior of male-on-male or female-on-female, in English at least, are sodomy, sodomite, and sodomize. And people who are “trans-” are mentally ill.
Well….I would be frustrated too if I could not find my sexual identity with either hand; didn’t have any idea what sex I was. Socially confused by a sexual perversion, over- complexity of social norms with self-hatred as the outcome.

There are no references in the New Testament to homosexuality as we understand it today. Jesus says nothing about it. In two places the words malekoi and arsenakatoi (spelled wrong I’m sure) are used but neither means “homosexual.” One means “soft” and the other refers to pagan temple prostitutes.

Please learn what is really in the Bible before you talk about it. There is nothing in Scripture that says or implies “love the sinner, hate the sin.” That is a creation of the last few decades.
I would suggest that Marti Cummings look into the Muslim religion, which is anti-Christian and anti-LGBTQ and see how welcoming and caring she and her soul mates are treated. Being Christian means that we are tolerant of others, but do not necessarily approve of their lifestyle. I am sure that Samaritan’s purse did not turn anyone away.

This is 100% fake. Just confirmed with a couple of my closest friends, whose daughter works at Samaritan’s Purse and was closely involved with this field hospital. They closed down the operation because the number of patients dwindled, and they were no longer needed. It is very sad that these protestor groups took even 1% of the credit because they know they are lying. Shame on them.

Interesting how many posts never deal with the historical (and often present) reality of bigotry towards the gay community, due, in many cases, to the teachings of many churches and at other times due to misunderstanding church teaching by members of a congregation. Very many gay people have been tortured, murdered, teased and discriminated against in this country until very recently,when the gay community politically organized to save lives during the HIV epidemic. To discount that history and this present, when there are still haters out there, as evidenced by some posts here, is to fail to understand the level of accumulated resentment built up by some members of the gay community.
This is not to support the removal of a hospital that was treating all comers without discrimination during a pandemic; it is just to increase understanding that we all have feelings, Christians, gay Christians, and non-Christian gays alike–and we should all treat each other with understanding, tolerance and respect. The latter has to begin with the churches.
