The champions of this year’s College Football Playoffs, the Clemson Tigers, were invited and accepted the invitation to the White House.
Last year’s winning team, the Alabama Crimson Tide rejected the offer to visit the White House after being invited last year.
But it’s not so much the fact that Clemson accepted the offer and made the trip that’s stirred up left-leaning morons. It’s that the President paid for the meal out of his own pocket and bought hamburgers and pizza instead of filet mignon and caviar.
The President tweeted early Tuesday morning,
“Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders [sic] etc. Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!”

After returning to the White House from his trip to New Orleans, President Trump had told reporters, “We ordered American fast food, paid for by me. Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza. We have some very large people that like eating, so I think we’re going to have a little fun.”
Sarah Sanders verified that the President was indeed paying for the meal out of his own pocket due to the shutdown.
CBS in Pittsburgh called the event,
An impressive — and highly unusual — White House smorgasbord greeted the players. Silver trays held stacks of wrapped burgers from Wendy’s. Also on offer were boxed burgers from McDonald’s, including Big Macs.
White House cups bearing the presidential seal held the fries.
Well, you know as well as I do that liberals need something to gripe about so this time, they decided to criticize the President’s good deed by saying that it wasn’t good enough.
They said since Trump shutdown the Gov, they had no one to cook, so he had to pay for the meal and decided to go as cheap as possible. Dabo might be an agent just saying

This is fantastic as far as I’m concerned. Why does the President need to spend a ton of money to feed some nice people? Would you rather it have been like Obama spending $65,000 on pizza and hot dogs for a private party at the White House? AND it was your money he spent, not his own. He spent $65,000 of taxpayers money on hot dogs and pizza. Where was the uproar then? Nowhere to be found.
