If You See A Woman With An Engagement Ring On Her Pinky, What It Means Will…
The Significance Of A Woman’s Ring on each finger is an important thing to consider when choosing where they wear their rings.
Women are very particular with how and where they wear their rings, as rings are one of the ways women express themselves as well as declare their status in life.
This should probably be the one-liner advertisement to sell pinky finger rings now that people have been sold out of this trend. As famous as it is getting, it is worth all the hype. Yes, people are showing their self-love by gifting themselves cute rings for pinky fingers, showing independency from the need of any partners whatsoever.
A jewelry company called Fred + Far started the pinky promise ring movement and it’s all about self-love and has nothing to do with whether a woman is in a relationship or not.
Melody Godfred, one of the founders of Fred + Far, said she created the ring as a reminder to take care of herself during her everyday life.
Godfred and co-founder Samira Far wanted the promise ring series to help women celebrate themselves. One of the rings for the pinky finger is a sign that someone is taking care of themselves and are committed to their self-care routine.
Godfred further explained the reasoning behind the rings and why she believes they can be so powerful for women out there, during an interview with Mental Scoops.
“I chose to create the ring for my pinky because it is a finger I’ve never worn a ring on before. It is as overlooked as women can be in their own lives. It felt very powerful to me to take a traditional symbol of commitment to someone else (big, bold engagement rings) and say, ‘This time, I’m choosing myself.’ I still wear my engagement ring proudly, and these two rings are not mutually exclusive. Because loving yourself, makes you better able to love someone else.”
The Fred + Far website articulates the concept very clearly this way. They say that an engagement ring is a commitment to another person. One of their self-love pinky rings is a commitment to loving oneself. Their website offers the original self-love pinky ring along with limited-edition varieties and rings with birth month stones.
Godfred partnered with Far, and the women spent a year designing the ring and researching the stone. They decided on a lab-grown stone because it is inherently conflict-free.
“Unlike an engagement ring, which requires being chosen by another and can be worn only by a select group of women, this commitment ring is one that can be worn by any woman, at any stage in her life,” Far said. “The beauty is that these two commitments are not mutually exclusive, and in fact we believe committing to yourself makes you a better partner. We decided to use the big bold design of an engagement ring and put it on the pinky, the most neglected finger on our hands, as a reminder to practice self-love and care.”
The gem in the self-love pinky ring is a lab-created white sapphire.
“Lab-created stones are biologically and visually identical to natural stones, only more flawless,” the website articulates. “They represent the power of creation, are conflict-free, and are much kinder to the environment. The lab-created white sapphire is our original stone, classic style, and most popular product. It is known for evoking clarity in addition to fueling intuition, wisdom, and strength of spirit. It also reveals one’s talents and inspires both integrity as well as positive thinking. Sapphire is also the September birthstone.”
The trend of wearing a little ring on the little finger is, exactly, to keep those wild, destructive feelings away and make us feel good. Life is more than just about trying to find the right person all the time and forgetting oneself in doing so.
