Heartless Cuomo Tells Off Concerned Small Business Owners
This pandemic has been rough on everyone. It has caused numerous small businesses to close their doors for good across the country. Those that were fortunate enough to survive are struggling once again as this virus peaks for the second time. Dem leaders are of course doing what they do best and causing businesses to fail with their overbearing orders. Small Businesses in New York are complaining about Cuomo's extreme order that bans indoor dining. But instead of hearing his constituents out, he has scolded them claiming they are lucky he hasn't completely shut down the state.
“Let’s focus on what the real issues are,” dismissing “people who are concerned” about losing their livelihoods, Cuomo claimed.
“You should be HAPPY because if we don’t change the trajectory, we’re going to go to shut down, and then your business is going to close. That, my friends, is a real problem. Worry about that because that is a real worry,” he ranted.
Yet minutes later, he undermined his own job-killing mandate.
“Overwhelmingly, the number of new cases are coming from small gatherings, living room spread,” he said. “I can’t tell you how many people I talk to who say, ‘I’m not going out, I’m staying home and I invite my friends over, so I’m being safe,’” he continued. “The problem in the spring was going out. The problem in the winter is staying home and inviting people over.”
"Critics say the governor has gone too far in suspending indoor dining in the five boroughs for at least two weeks amid a disturbing rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations -- infections that are largely the result of modest but reckless indoor gatherings. Fewer than 2% of New York's infections can be linked directly to bars and restaurants.
"Demonstrators demanded that indoor dining be reopened at a minimum of 25% capacity, along with grants and loans so they can survive.
"It breaks my heart that all these families is not going to have money to buy Christmas gifts for their kids," restaurant owner Susana Osorio said. "And all of the employees that I have, they have kids.
At less than 2% Cuomo is intentionally killing restaurants. Cuomo should just tell restaurants to practice the basic safety guidelines put out by the CDC. Aside from that, he is making the situation worse by killing small businesses and increasing unemployment.
