House Dems are proud of themselves for impeaching Trump a second time and it’s truly odd since most of these Dems are former lawyers. I guess they are trying to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes with this move and are trying to ride the public’s outrage over the Capitol Building Raid. But Anyone who has taken the time to actually listen to the Trump rally speech, as opposed to listening to the MSM’s anti-Trump, would see that Trump never called for violence, which makes this whole impeachment beyond ridiculous.
But it’s worse than just lying to the people. House Dems have already impeached Trump regardless of the facts and think they should wait until they control the Senate in hopes of making the impeachment stick, which would mean they intend to impeach Trump after he leaves office. But Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz claims that not only is this unconstitutional, it’s also dangerous.
“There is no jurisdiction, you cannot put citizen Trump on trial,” he said.
“If you could do that, it would be … putting someone on trial who is not a sitting president and … implications would be horrendous,” he said.
“If you can impeach anyone who is not a sitting president, there are no limits to the power of the Congress to try ordinary citizens,” he added. “It’s plainly unconstitutional and the Senate should not proceed with this unconstitutional act.”
So this could mean that House Dems are trying to also extend their power in this move to impeach Trump. Alan Dershowitz is not even a Trump supporter. He’s a liberal. But he is not the only Liberal that is warning against impeaching Trump. Legal Expert Jonathan Turley is also advising against it.
Trump’s “address does not meet the definition for incitement under the criminal code. It would be viewed as protected speech by the Supreme Court.”
Trump never actually called for violence or riots. But he urged his supporters to march on the Capitol to raise their opposition to the certification of electoral votes and to back the recent challenges made by a few members of Congress. Trump told the crowd “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices be heard.”
“There was no call for lawless action by Trump…”
“So Congress is now seeking an impeachment for remarks covered by the First Amendment. It would create precedent for the impeachment of any president blamed for violent acts of others after using reckless language.”
But Dems are not going to listen to reason here. They want Trump gone and want to ensure that he can’t come back in 2024. This is wrong on multiple levels and even liberal legal experts are trying to stop Dems. So we can only hope the GOP Senators don’t turn on Trump.
