Boycott Begins After Nike Pulls Shoes with American Flag After Kaepernick Complains About Them

Recently Nike released a new shoe design which had the American Flag on it.

Colin Kaepernick saw them and complained about them, now Nike has pulled the shoes and all because of one person’s complaint.

According to Maxim,

Colin Kaepernick and the Flag are in the news again, but not in the way you might think.

Kaepernick, a Nike athlete, objected to a new Air Max sporting the so-called “Betsy Ross” version of the American flag. Now Nike is reportedly removing that shoe from stores and has taken it offline without explanation, and in retaliation the state of Arizona is removing financial incentives it was set to offer the athletic wear giant to open a factory there.

The shoes featuring the “Betsy Ross” flag, which has 13 stars in a circle representing the original colonies, was long considered the original American flag, though modern historians have disputed the story behind its creation.

Now, this has started a huge uproar and it looks like a boycott has begun as well. #WalkAwayFromNike seems to be  the

Even Ted Cruz tweeted, “I love America. I stand for the anthem, respect the flag & honor the men & women who fought to defend our Nation,” Cruz posted on Tuesday morning. “I respect Free Speech & I’m exerting mine: until [Nike] ends its contempt for those values, I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE NIKE PRODUCTS.”

Radio host Michael Medved echoes the same sentiments as Senator Cruz, “Ted, you’re right! In sane American, regardless of politics, should #WalkAwayFromNike ….what an idiotic disgrace!”

Another Twitter user posted, “Nike pulling your shoes with the Betsy Ross flag marginalizes the contribution of iconic America women. I stand for the values our flag represent. #walkawayfromnike”

“Nike has become ridiculous. There are plenty of clothing companies that don’t get mixed up with identity politics. Dump Nike stock and clothes.  said another user.

It looks like Nike made their decision and so now they’ll suffer the consequences as we make ours.

Do you still feel comfortable buying Nike products knowing that they are anti-American?
