Bloomberg has been dumping money into his campaign, hoping it will be enough to buy the lead from Biden or Sanders. But Bloomberg forgets that he has wronged minorities in a big way. He thinks that a simple apology is enough to be forgiven by the black community for 12 years of stop and frisk. Videos have also been released showing that he also ordered police to not only patrol black areas more often he also felt they needed to be arrested more often. So it comes as no surprise that during a recent speech of Bloomberg’s at a historic black churhc in Alabama, some black folk stood up in protests against the former mayor.
“Multiple attendees at #BloodySunday service are turning their backs on @MikeBloomberg as he delivers his remarks and discusses his plans to defend voting rights and address the racial wealth gap.”
“The protest, which remained silent and peaceful, took place as Bloomberg was giving a speech.
“Despite the demonstration, Bloomberg went ahead with his remarks, part of which focused on his proposed Greenwood Initiative, which aims to promote “economic justice” for African Americans, and his “commitment to prioritizing criminal justice reform,” according to a release from his campaign.
“Dr. King understood that the right to vote was only the first step in the march to true equality because true equality means that wealth in this country should have no relation to race or ethnicity. That’s what my Greenwood Initiative is all about,” he said Sunday.”
“Bloomberg was invited to speak during Selma’s Jubilee, an annual event marking “Bloody Sunday” when hundreds of protesters were beaten and battered while marching across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in 1965, “during the Civil Rights Movement.
The event has long been an opportunity for national candidates to share their platforms and drum up support from black voters.”
It would be amazing if Bloomberg can get the Black vote after what he did while mayor as New York. He would have to beat Sanders who actually helped with the Civil Rights movement in Chicago and attended the march on Washingon. But with the MSM’s coverage, it’s a wonder if the black community even knows that.
