A Marine Dad Put A Sticker On His Car, Then He Found A Note That Made Him Totally…

Lewis couldn’t be more proud of his son for serving his country. That’s why the note left on his car made him cry.

The Deltona man has a sticker on his car that reads “My son is a Marine.” When he came out of Walmart after shopping on Friday he found a note that read: “F*** you and your son I hope he dies,” according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Lewis Alexander said the sticker has been on his car for two years and nobody had previously disapproved of its message.

Alexander said he was only inside Walmart for about 15 minutes before coming outside and seeing the white sheet of paper with those words scribbled in pen.

“It’s horrific, that’s all I can say. I don’t have the words for it,” Alexander said.

But he said what hurts the most is the part that said “I hope he dies.”

“A lot of times when you’re sitting at home, you don’t know where your son’s at. You hear a car pull up, and you look outside to make sure it’s not the chaplain,” Alexander said.

His son is 20 years old and has been serving for two years. He is now the leader of his squad.

Alexander called the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office to let them know what happened, and they posted it to Facebook.

The Sheriff’s Office shared the note on their Facebook page, stating they couldn’t “undo the message,” but they could use the opportunity to say thank you to all service members and their families.

The post received an outpouring of support, with hundreds of comments and likes.

“It’s uplifting. It’s given me a lot of solace and lucidity, and I forgive the person,” Alexander said.

Alexander said he would love to see the video of the person responsible that may have been recorded the incident in Walmart’s parking lot. But Walmart told News 13 it wouldn’t release it because this isn’t a criminal investigation.

Meanwhile, Alexander said the sticker isn’t going anywhere.

“That’ll be on there until it wears out,” Alexander said.

According to AWM, the sheriff’s office received a flood of comments on their post, including one person who noted: “Whoever left this note should be found and publicly shamed. I don’t support the unnecessary wars the US has engaged in during the last 25 years or so, but I do support our troops. They put their lives on the line for us, and deserve our respect and thanks.”

Another commenter remarked: “I am grateful for people like your son, that he/they are willing and ready to protect and defend this country. Many thanks to the families who give up their loved ones so we can have the freedoms that our forefathers wanted for us. God Bless America!”
