Wallace Asks Cheney If She Has Learned Her Lesson Yet

The GOP did right the right thing in removing Rep Cheney from her leadership position. Now it is the job of Wyoming residents to finish the job and vote her out next election. So considering she will be facing an election soon Fox Host Chris Wallace asked Cheney if she had a change of heart or if she was going to stick with her anti-Trump stance.

Wallace interviewed Cheney to find out

“What about the “tens of millions of Republican voters who still support Donald Trump? Why alienate them?” Wallace asked.

“Well, you know, I wish we could do that Chris but unfortunately, as I said over the course of the last several weeks, former President Trump continues to be a real danger,” Cheney said.

“What he’s doing and what he’s saying — his claims, his refusal to accept decisions by the courts. His claims continued as recently as yesterday that somehow this election was stolen,” she continued. “You know what he’s doing is he’s causing people to believe that they can’t count on our electoral process to actually convey the will of the people.”

“Those millions of people that you mention who supported the president have been misled. They’ve been betrayed. And certainly, as we see his continued action to attack our democracy, his continued refusal to accept the results of the last election, you see that ongoing danger.”

Wallace later asked Cheney about her stance on Trump, the January 6th raid and if she was “prepared to make this, politically, the hill she is ready to die on?

“Look, I cannot imagine a more important issue than whether or not the Republican Party is going to be a party that embraces and defends the rule of law and Constitution,” Cheney replied.

“I think that what we have seen over the course of the last couple of weeks is really the opening salvo in what is a battle for the soul of the Republican Party, a battle for the soul of our democracy. I intend to play a very big role in that, to do everything I can to help restore our party.”

It looks like she is likely going to die on that political hill as most Wyoming residents voted for Trump. She is taking a very unpopular stance and would be better off if she ran as a Dem since they seem to like her. You’d think she would learn from her mistake after Trump was acquitted in the Senate. But she’s a typical RINO, so I guess we only have to deal with her for one more year.
