Trump is calling for States to reopen come the end of this month and people are worried about what is going to happen next. The CDC is already claiming that a second wave this fall could be even worse than this round as COVID-19 could easily be mistaken for the common flu. Dr. Birx, however, feels we will be ready.
“The alarming warning from CDC Director Robert Redfield was made in an interview with the Washington Post.
“There’s a possibility that the assault of the virus on our nation next winter will actually be even more difficult than the one we just went through,” said Redfield.
“And when I’ve said this to others, they kind of put their head back, they don’t understand what I mean,” he explained. “We’re going to have the flu epidemic and the coronavirus epidemic at the same time.”
Dr. Birx, however, had a different take on the matter.
“We were very clear in the guidelines that we believe we can monitor, again monitor communities at the community level, by using the influenza-like illness and the syndromic respiratory and gastrointestinal components of this particular virus,” said Dr. Deborah Birx. “Obviously when we have flu, we’re working on an algorithm where you test for flu, and then you test for COVID, and making sure that you’re building the testing capacity to be able to do that.”
Birx continued saying that on the surface, patients with early flu and early COVID-19 symptoms can look very similar, stressing the need again for testing.
“The president has made it clear that we have the emergency, which we have been working on, the opening up guidelines, and just like he talked about the Phase 4, he has us very much working on the next 60, 90 days and all on with fall, and that’s why he hasn’t stopped the ventilator orders,” she said. “It’s very important we have a refreshed and comprehensive stockpile going into the fall.”
When pressed by another reporter about the CDC’s report Dr. Birx reasserted that she thinks they are wrong.
“I don’t know if it will be worse; I think this has been pretty bad,” she responded.
“When you see what happened in New York, that was very bad,” she continued. “I believe that we’ll have early warning signals both from our surveillance that we’ve been talking about in these vulnerable populations. We’re going to continue that surveillance from now all the way through to be able to give us that early warning signal.”
I hope she is right and this is the worst of it. The only thing we can really do is prepare for this Fall and hope for the best. There are also talks about vaccines possibly being available this Fall as well, so hopefully, those are readily available before a second wave hits.

The CDC is an incompetent pro left democrat supporter that is trying to paint a disastrous picture to help get the democrats elected. T think Dr. Birx is probably more level headed and has more common sense than Fauci.

The smoking thing is just one example; here’s one method they used to get their so-called ‘stats’–my dad had smoked from the age of 11–yes, 11–when he passed away at the age of 91, his death certificate listed ‘Natural Causes’ & old age but whadya know! On the next line they’d written “Years of smoking may have contributed to his death’! Yet he’d never been diagnosed with ANY condition related to smoking!
Same thing happened with my 89 year old mom who smoked for almost 60 of those years yet had no health problems at all–her death certificate also stated ‘Natural Causes ‘ but with the same remark on the 2nd line

I find it interesting that Fauci , in a different article , stated that the CDC numbers were UNDER stated by as much as 25% and Birx , stated in another article, stated that the CDC numbers were INFLATED by as much as 25%……
