During a Fox News town hall, Bloomberg once again lied to the public, manipulatively answering a question to make himself sound more appealing. But Bloomberg did more than lie to us, he let us all know that he felt his life was far more important than any other Americans. And he wants to be our president?
Virginia voter Clarke Chitty asked the following revealing question.
“How do you justify pushing for more gun control when you have an armed security detail that is likely equipped with the same firearms and magazines that you seek to ban the common citizen from owning? Does your life matter more than mine, or my family’s, or these people’s?”
Bloomberg was quick to respond marginalizing everyone else’s need to keep their loved ones safe.
“Look. I probably get 40 or 50 threats every week and some of them are real. That just happens when you’re the mayor of New York City or you are very wealthy, and if you’re campaigning for president of the United States, you get lots of threats. So, I have a security detail, I pay for it all myself, and, you know, they’re all retired police officers who are very well trained in firearms.”
Let me talk about firearms for a second, the Second Amendment gives you the right to bear arms, nobody is suggesting that we are going to change the Constitution, even if you wanted to I don’t think you’d get it done. So nobody is going to take away your right to bear arms.
The Supreme Court says you can have reasonable restrictions and the only restrictions which I’m in favor of is to prevent us from selling guns to people with psychiatric problems, criminals, or people that are minors, OK?” Bloomberg said trying to make his Gun Control views sound more moderate.
He then went on to bash anyone who disagrees with him.

Bloomberg is not really telling the truth here, as his website lays out what he actually wants and it’s far more than background checks.
“Bloomberg’s plan, as outlined on his website, calls for (in part):
- Requiring “every gun buyer to get a permit before making a purchase”
- The passage of “a federal red flag law that expands extreme risk orders to 50 states — and funds state efforts to maximize the policy”
- Reinstating “the federal ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines,” noting “current assault weapons owners will be allowed to keep their guns, but will have to report them to federal officials”
The plan also states that Bloomberg “will require secure storage of firearms when they are not in use.”
It seems like Bloomberg conveniently forgot that he wants to ban assault weapons, force people to buy permits, and enact red flag laws. I guess all three of those points slipped his mind. But really I think the scary part here is how he marginalizes everyone else’s right to bear arms as he claims his threats are real and in infers that his life is more important than the Americans he wants to represent.
This is why Bloomberg will never be president. He thinks he is so important that we don’t matter! Sounds like a lot o the congressmen and senators that they are so much more important than the people who elected them to do work for them in Washington.
Yup, and there is where the – red flag – laws should start lol. His thinking IS NOT RATIONAL, NOR LOGICAL ,,, BY ANY STRETCH OF THE WORDS . Meaning he has mental issues lol. Or sickness rather .
But then again, ANY DICTATOR ,,, thinks his life is more important than the lowly slaves he rules over.
Sounds like a “famous” person who once said—“let them eat cake”—-same disregard for the common man!
” The Supreme Court says you can have reasonable restrictions ”
So, explain to me just exactly what part of the Constitution allows the “supreme” court to engage in LEGISLATION.
I’ve read the duties of each branch and NO WHERE, in the Constitution, is any part of the “government”, other than Congress, allow to “legislate”.
BY LAW, the courts have no authority at all to make law – including changing what the Constitution, including the Second Amendment, actually says.
No where, in the text of the Second Amendment, will you find the words, “until”, “unless”, or “except” – therefor the Second Amendment IS ABSOLUTE when it comes to the part about “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” ….. by the way, everyone should look up the meaning of “infringe” …. start with Black’s.
