From coast to coast, parents are rebelling against what they describe as Islamic indoctrination of their children in public schools.
In sunny San Diego, a local school decided to work with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to develop a program that protected Muslim students from bullying. Little did they know that their well-intentioned initiative would spark outrage among some parents.
Christopher Wyrick, a concerned father, stumbled upon the news of the school’s new program through conservative websites. Feeling alarmed, he decided to attend his children’s school board meeting to confront the board members and express his opinions.
At the meeting, Trustee Kevin Beiser attempted to clarify the program to quell the confusion among the gathered parents.
“We will not allow Muslim students in San Diego schools to be spit on,” Beiser announced, as reported by the San Diego Tribune. A fellow parent chimed in, agreeing that “all students should be safe.”
As the discussion continued, Wyrick stepped up to the podium to confront the school board. A video clip captured his fiery demeanor as he demanded answers, asking, “At what point did you decide that it was OK to teach my children about Islam?” Wyrick was determined to finish his speech and, when asked to leave the podium, defiantly declared, “You’re gonna have to drag me out of here.”
Many praised Wyrick’s passionate attitude and criticized the school for what they believed to be Islam’s promotion through its anti-bullying program as the news spread like wildfire over the internet. Even further, several critics compared the anti-Islamophobia campaign to the imposition of sharia law in the school system.
Supporters of Wyrick took to social media to express their solidarity. One reader commented on a Facebook page:
“Keep after them, Mr. Wyrick. The organization CAIR is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood, and every member of CAIR is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and all of them are members of HAMAS. CAIR is pushing these Islam teachings nationwide and infiltrating the school. These teachings are actually FORCED Conversion to Islam and it is ILLEGAL. Everybody on the San Diego School Board should be fired ASAP.”
Another supporter chimed in, “Good for you, sir. I stand behind you 100%. This crap doesn’t belong in America’s school systems. Can you even begin to imagine if we went to their country and did not assimilate to their beliefs? This is America, and we already have our beliefs, and if you don’t like it, then you shouldn’t be living in this country. You knew what this country was long before you came here.”
A third person added, “If Christians tried to enact this… all HELL would break loose. Parents, wake up and get involved and stop this evil from happening before it’s too late. We the people are responsible for what’s taking place in our country, and we the parents need to take back our schools!”
