Dems are practically up in arms over the fact that Trump has not ceded the presidential election. They have been chastising anyone who believes Trump has a chance even before most of the ballots were counted. But there were claims of fraud, faulty voting machines, and this was a close race. So Trump deserves to be treated fairly and be given every chance to ensure that the results are legitimate. But Dems are getting impatient and want Biden to start the transition process. The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) sees Biden as the apparent winner and is starting the transition process. Trump responded to the GSA and let them know they are not going to hinder his fight to win this election.
GSA Admin Emily Murphy sent the following to the Biden campaign.
“I have dedicated much of my adult life to public service, and I have always strived to do what is right,” she said. “Please know that I came to my decision independently, based on the law and available facts. I was never directly or indirectly pressured by any Executive Branch official—including those who work at the White House or GSA—with regard to the substance or timing of my decision. To be clear, I did not receive any direction to delay my determination.”
“But Murphy said she did receive threats “online, by phone, and by mail directed at my safety, my family, my staff, and even my pets in an effort to coerce me into making this determination prematurely. Even in the face of thousands of threats, I always remained committed to upholding the law.”
Murphy later expressed in the letter that she was opening up resources to Biden largely due to Michigan declaring Biden won the state by over 150k votes. She was not, nor was the GSA, declaring Biden was the winner. They were simply setting up Biden as he is currently the “apparent president.”
Trump tweeted about the GSA and Murphy.
“I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country. She has been harassed, threatened, and abused – and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA. Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good…”
…fight, and I believe we will prevail! Nevertheless, in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.”
Trump clarified that the fight is by no means done.
“What does GSA being allowed to preliminarily work with the Dems have to do with continuing to pursue our various cases on what will go down as the most corrupt election in American political history? We are moving full speed ahead. Will never concede to fake ballots & “Dominion”.
Almost half the country voted for Trump. So Trump should be given every possible opportunity to ensure the result of this close race. The GSA is just doing their job, they are not declaring anyone the victor of this race and following protocol to the best of their ability.
