Disney dropped the bomb about this mind-blowing Star Wars experience on May 4, 2021 – you guessed it, Star Wars Day. According to a Disney Parks YouTube video description, “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World Resort will take you to a galaxy far, far away starting in 2022 for an all-immersive, two-night vacation experience that goes beyond anything Disney has ever created before.”
And as if that wasn’t enough, guests will get to see a brand-new lightsaber in action, “created by Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development.” In a Disney Parks Blog post, it’s revealed that guests’ decisions, actions, and even casual chit-chat will determine how their personal Star Wars story unfolds during their stay.
The blog post continues, painting a vivid picture of what’s to come:
“When the Launch Pod’s airlock slides open, you’ll take your first step into a galaxy far, far away as Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser comes to life all around you. During your stay aboard this glamorous ship, you may interact with an eclectic group of characters both familiar and new, possibly including the starcruiser’s strong and charismatic captain, a plucky ship’s mechanic, and a galactic superstar who can captivate an entire room with the crook of one jewel-encrusted purple Twi’lek finger.”
