Supreme Court Backs Trump In His Humanitarian Efforts At The Border

The MSM is not covering our border as often because of the Corona Virus and the Dem Primary. But we are still being overrun by migrants and struggle to handle them in our detention centers, as we determine what to do with them. This process is timely, costs taxpayers, and is not easy on the migrants since we are overburdened. So Trump has been pushing for asylum-seeking migrants to stay in Mexico until their cases can be sorted out. California and Arizona’s Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals tried to stop Trump but he prevailed with the help of the SCOTUS.

“The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a win to President Trump on Wednesday by allowing his administration to enforce the “Remain in Mexico” asylum policy as litigation surrounding it continues.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals had said a week earlier that it would block the policy in Arizona and California, the two border states where its authority extends. The Trump administration then turned to the Supreme Court for relief.

“The application for stay presented to Justice Kagan and by her referred to the Court is granted, and the district court’s April 8, 2019 order granting a preliminary injunction is stayed pending the timely filing and disposition of a petition for a writ of certiorari,” the Supreme Court said in an order, which noted that Justice Sonia Sotomayor opposed the Trump administration’s stay application.

The high court action came a day before the lower court order was to have taken effect. Instead, the “Remain in Mexico” policy will remain in force while a lawsuit challenging it plays out in the courts.”

“Opponents argue that the policy endangers migrants by making them wait out their immigration cases in unsafe conditions in Mexico.

“Reports of what many asylum-seekers face once sent to these cities are grim,” reads a report from the American Civil Liberties Union. “Human rights groups and journalists have documented numerous cases of kidnapping, sexual assault, and other violent crimes committed against them.”

However, the administration argues that the the policy has been critical and effective in dealing with the immigration situation at the border.

In a late-February statement, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said that the policy — which had returned “over 60,000 aliens to Mexico” — has been “hugely successful” in “reducing burdens on United States communities and easing the humanitarian crisis on the Southern border.”

“We are gratified that the Supreme Court granted a stay, which prevents a district court injunction from impairing the security of our borders and the integrity of our immigration system,” a Department of Justice spokesperson said of the ruling, according to Axios.”

Dems are just unpleasable. They get angry that we are struggling to handle what seems to be a never-ending flow of migrants, and then when we come up with a solution, where they stay out of America until their cases can be heard, they are upset we are not taking them in. This is why Dems have to raise our taxes so much when they get into office. Thankfully the Trump Administration has prevailed so far.
