The vast majority of the GOP Senators saw the impeachment for the farse it was. But Sen. Mitt Romney apparently felt differently. Romney voted to impeach Trump over the abuse of power charge joining the Democrat Senators. He was the only member of the GOP that voted against Trump. Romney claims he did so because he had to follow his conscience, but his former traveling press secretary, Rick Gorka, believes that’s not the case.
He said as much on Twitter.
“I believe Mitt Romney is motivated by bitterness and jealously that @realDonaldTrump accomplished what he has failed to do multiple times. His desire to pander to the chattering class has gotten the best of him…again.”
“These are the same people that hated Mitt in 2012 and they will hate him again when they are done with him. It is sad to see that Mitt has not learned the lessons from 2012. Now he has betrayed his Party and millions of voters.”
“Gorka was not the only person close to Romney to take issue with his decision; Romney’s niece, Ronna Romney McDaniel, who serves as the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, tweeted, “This is not the first time I have disagreed with Mitt, and I imagine it will not be the last. The bottom line is President Trump did nothing wrong, and the Republican Party is more united than ever behind him. I, along with the @GOP, stand with President Trump.”
Romney “expects he’ll face “unimaginable” consequences for breaking with his party.
“I don’t know what they’ll be, there’s some I know,” Romney said in an interview released by New York Times’s “Daily” podcast Thursday, when asked what consequences he anticipates from the decision.
“I know they’ll be consequences and I just have to recognize that and do what you think is right,” Romney added.”
Mitt Romney has come to the realization that he has gotten as far as he will ever go politically and has decided to finally show his true colors. He knows his political career is over. Buh bye, Mitt, you loser.

I hate to say it but Trump as far as Romney is concerned has extremely bad judgement in helping people. As we have seen that they all turn against him. Just the other day I got a bill from cable TV up $10.00. Guess who passed a law that allows Cable TV to raise the price of TV that should have been free in the first place. Anthony, you’re right on that interpretation from the Godfather movies, but you could have added a little more. Do you remember when Michael Corleone said he was getting out of the “business” he inherited from his father, and “going legal?” In the last 30+ years, maybe more, the States have legalized gambling, horse race betting, playing the numbers, etc. Look at all of the taxes that the States missed out on (except Las Vegas). That’s one aspect, and here’s another: someone who could put you in harm’s way, is eliminated. Some politicians have body bags following them. That’s the old Godfather’s way.
Utah needs to recall Romney since he has shown he is not united with the GOP and he never has been. He knew he wouldn’t get elected running as a Democrat. He is on a revenge just like the Democrats. His interests isn’t to work for the ones who voted for him but just self interest.

Mitt Romney is guilty of the same crimes that the Democrats are. His hands are in the same cookie jars theirs are in. Human sex trafficking is a major one. Ukrainian corruption payoffs, another one. Drug trafficking. There are so many crimes that this man is trying to protect himself from, consequence-wise, it’s no wonder why he sided with the Democrats, who have been busily trying to keep the truth from the American people and the world, keeping everything in darkness, hidden.
