Senator Rand Paul had COVID-19 and beat it. He is one of the few politicians that knows how bad this virus can be. But now that he has beaten it he is questioning Dr. Fauci about his decision to keep schools closed. Paul even went as far as to say that Fauci’s decision should not be what they solely base these lockdown on.
“I think we ought to have a little bit of humility in our belief that we know what’s best for the economy, and as much as I respect you, Dr. Fauci, I don’t think you’re the end-all,” Paul stated.” “I don’t think you’re the one person that gets to make the decision. We can listen to your advice, but there are people on the other side saying there’s not going to be a surge and that we can safely open the economy and the facts will bear this out. If we keep kids out of school for another year, what’s going to happen is the poor and unprivileged kids who don’t have a parent that’s able to teach them at home are not going to learn for a full year…I think it’s a huge mistake if we don’t open the schools in the fall.”
Fauci responded to Paul’s claim about being the “end all.”
“I have never made myself out to be the end-all and only voice in this. I am a scientist, a physician, and a public health official. I give advice according to the best scientific evidence. There are a number of other people who come into that and give advice that are more related to the things you spoke about…About the need to get the country back open again economically. I don’t give advice about economic things, I don’t give advice about anything other than public health.”
Fauci then went on to explain that we don’t know everything about this virus.
“We’d really better be very careful, particularly when it comes to children, because the more and more we learn, we’re seeing things that this virus can do that we didn’t see from the studies in China or in Europe.”
Fauci then pointed out an inflammatory condition some children are facing due to the virus before explaining that he was erring on the side of caution.
You’re right in the numbers that children, in general, do much better than adults and the elderly and particularly those with underlying conditions. But I am very careful—and, hopefully, humble—in knowing that I don’t know everything about this disease. And that’s why I’m very reserved in making broad predictions.”

It looks like Fauci really bested Paul here. He explained that by no means is he an expert when it comes to reopening States or the economy. He is simply relaying the data they have found and letting the leader of our country decide what is best. If that is all he is doing that sounds pretty fair. We should want honest data regardless of how much we may not like the findings. We have flattened the curve here and the nation should be up in running in no time. I am sure Paul’s concerns will soon be addressed as we find out how things go after more States start opening.
Urged President via contact White House to get 2nd opinion & not from Dr Birx but other MDs same resume as Fauci BUT not from same organz.
But No & we have this damn lockdown.
Fauci told President to do Lockdown & no flexibility seen in order or recommendation.
Economy tanked
& notice how Fauci is around virus cures & NOT social distancing nor wears mask or has 1 on during sessions.
& those on Task Force. & now CA is on lockdown from March to Aug??
No timeline for ending lockdowns, Not making life flexible
Thank the Dem mayors & governors.
