Public Schools Can’t Talk About Jesus…But Allah Is Okay?

A New Jersey school posted a poster saying, “May Allah Continue to Shower You Love and Wisdom”.

WHAT!?

This was actually a poster put up at a public school?

Let me first say this. If this incident were to have been about Jesus, people would have been livid for mentioning religion.

Here’s the truth of the matter. People are scared of Islam and scared of Muslim and what they may do if they were upset. So rather than risk offending them, people cater to them and contradict their professed beliefs by making acceptions for this one religion.

According to the Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund,

The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF) sent a “cease and desist” letter moments ago to West New York School District’s superintendent, demanding that two district-sponsored Ramadan posters in Memorial High School be taken down.

One poster offers “Warm greetings from Memorial High school” and wishes students to “Have a blessed Ramadan.” The poster then beseeches that “MAY ALLAH CONTINUE TO SHOWER YOU LOVE AND WISDOM.”

FCDF sent the letter to Superintendent Ms. Clara Brito Herrera and Scott Wolhrab, Memorial High’s principal, after an anonymous teacher contacted FCDF on behalf of other teachers, all of whom are deeply concerned about the school district’s promotion of Islam. Although the facts are still developing, school administrators are aware of the teachers’ concerns about the posters yet are deliberately keeping them up.

Did they forget about their long cherished principle of separation of church and state (even though it is an inaccurate and distorted understanding)?

We can’t have prayer, we can’t mention God or Jesus, we can’t read the Bible, but lo and behold, we can sure as heck put up an Islamic centered poster which mentions Allah? This should not be happening in our schools. The best thing we can do at this point is to pull our children out of the public schooling system before it’s too late.
