To borrow a line from Willy Wonka, stepping on board the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is very much akin to entering a “world of pure imagination.”
However, before you blast off to Walt Disney World to stay in its Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel, there’s a little something you should know first: you won’t be able to leave after check-in.
You read it right! No leaving after check-in because Disney wants their Star Wars hotel experience to be immersive, guests are expected to remain behind closed doors for the entire three-day, two-night experience.

The hotel is anything but a vacation — in fact, you’re even given a space communicator that resembles a cell phone for “resistance meetings.” It’s encouraged that you stay until the 60-hour experience is complete to make the most of it (you’ll be in space, after all), but you can absolutely blast back to Earth if you’d like — they won’t hold you there!
The good news is if you need to unwind, the hotel has a lounge called the “Silver C” where you can sip on strong adult beverages from around the world and play a few rounds of Sabaac.
The vacation package includes a stay aboard the starship Halcyon. Because guests take off from their “launch pods,” they get to experience the life of a Star Wars character for real. Although you’ll feel like you’re in outer space for the length of your resort stay, you’ll really be in Orlando, Florida, safely near all of Disney’s other attractions.

Guests will be among the first to experience a new lightsaber “created by Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development.”
According to a Disney Parks Blog post:
“Guests who experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be the first to see it in action – along with so much more – starting in 2022 when this amazing new two-night adventure debuts. Watching that lightsaber activate right before your eyes will be just one of the countless ways that, from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart, you’ll be plunged into a Star Wars story where your decisions and actions – or even the casual conversations you may have – determine how your personal journey unfolds.”
“When the Launch Pod’s airlock slides open, you’ll take your first step into a galaxy far, far away as Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser comes to life all around you. During your stay aboard this glamorous ship, you may interact with an eclectic group of characters both familiar and new, possibly including the starcruiser’s strong and charismatic captain, a plucky ship’s mechanic, and a galactic superstar who can captivate an entire room with the crook of one jewel-encrusted purple Twi’lek finger.”

As for the price, it will cost quite a few galactic credits to board. Rates in a standard cabin start from $1,209 per person per night for a party of two, or $4,809 total.
A family of four will pay $749 per person per night for three adults (age 10 and older) and one child, or $5,999 total. Similar to a standard ocean cruise, solo travelers will pay a double rate for cabin occupancy.
Pricing includes one-day admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (for your excursion to Batuu), all meals, and onboard entertainment. While you may transfer to or from another Disney World resort hotel, the Galactic Starcruiser is a two-night experience.
