New Poll Is Sure To Trigger Establishment Dems

Establishment Dems are going to be pissed if they can’t find a way to change these poll results. According to a recent national poll, Sanders now has a 10 point lead over Biden and 11 points over Bloomberg. I wonder if Bloomberg has enough money to close that gap.

Democratic primary voters seem fairly intent on choosing Sanders as their nominee. Sanders currently has 21 delegates based on just the first two primary states – Iowa and New Hampshire. South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg has 22 thanks to getting one extra delegate in Iowa, though the results of that caucus are quite suspect.

A new Morning Consult poll found Sanders now has a 10-point lead over his closest challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden. Biden has obtained only six delegates so far in the primary.”

The latest Morning Consult poll finds Sanders at 29 percent support, followed by former Vice President Joe Biden at 19 percent and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg at 18 percent. Sanders gained 3 points in the poll after winning the New Hampshire primary this week, while Biden lost 3 points after a disastrous fifth-place showing.”

“…The Morning Consult survey found a 10-point drop among black voters in their confidence that Biden has the best shot of defeating Trump. Thirty-two percent of black voters said Sanders has the best chance of defeating Trump, followed by Biden and Bloomberg at 21.”

The survey of 2,639 registered voters nationwide who indicated they may vote in the Democratic primary or caucuses in their state has a 2-point margin of error.

The results are poor reading for Biden, who continues a dramatic drop that erases the national lead he held for over a year until his fourth-place showing in the Feb. 3 Iowa caucuses. The decline in Biden’s support comes amid faltering voter confidence over his perceived general-election strength, even as he banks his candidacy for the Democratic nod on the more diverse electorates driving nominating contests in Nevada and South Carolina ahead of Super Tuesday.”

Top Democrat donors have already given up on Biden, so it’s surprising that he has not dropped out yet. I wonder who Biden’s followers will back when he finally calls it? Are Dems actually going to let Sanders win the primary this time?
