Biden’s weak leadership has proven to embolden yet another American adversary. Now North Korea has joined in the growing threats with experts warning that their recent uptick in nuclear activity should not go ignored.
Air Force Times reported that the panel of experts said in the executive summary of the report obtained Saturday night by The Associated Press that there was “a marked acceleration” of Pyongyang’s testing and demonstration of new short-range and possibly medium-range missiles through January, “incorporating both ballistic and guidance technologies and using both solid and liquid propellants.”
New technologies tested included a possible hypersonic guiding warhead and a maneuverable re-entry vehicle,” the panel said. North Korea also demonstrated “increased capabilities for rapid deployment, wide mobility [including at sea], and improved resilience of its missile forces.”
The experts said North Korea “continued to seek material, technology and know-how for these programs overseas, including through cyber means and joint scientific research.”
Military Times reported that their experts believe it’s to get into the same cash cow deal Iran was received from Obama:
“Experts say Kim is trying to apply more pressure on rivals Washington and Seoul to accept it as a nuclear power in hopes of winning relief from economic sanctions and convert the diplomacy with Washington into mutual arms-reduction negotiations.”
The Biden administration has long wanted to re-up on the costly Iran Nuclear deal and has gone into talks with Iran recently. So I don’t find it hard to imagine that North Korea wouldn’t want in on a similar cash cow of a deal. If the US could simply ‘buy peace’ I would call it money well spent, but the issue with the Iran Nuclear deal before was that they were supposed to end their nuclear program, but never did.
I’m sure some of that taxpayer funding Iran received was allocated to the expansion of their nuclear program and I can’t see how North Korea would be any different.
