Liberal Magazine Claims We Are Better Than Our Founding Fathers

The America we love and know today is far different than what it started off as. The first American settlers had to fight the frontier and natives. They fought off British Tyranny and made us what we are today by creating our constitution. Our founding father’s vision allowed for our country to become the great nation it is today. But liberals over at New Republic Magazine feel that we are morally superior to our founding father’s and want to abolish our constitution. They think they know better…

New Republic writer Osita Nwanevu claims “The Constitution Is The Crisis.” Nwanevu wants to pack our courts to even out the “rigged” court.

“There’s no reason why a rigged Supreme Court should have the final say on the law of our land.” He also wants to eventually get rid of the constitution altogether.

“…the American left should work toward abolishing the Constitution someday—either for a new document or a new democratic order without a written constitution. If a new constitution were written, it would be our third. It’s not at all obvious why what the Founders and Framers thought and did should determine how we govern ourselves today, but for those who believe so, the fact that the Constitution is the second governing document they came up with—and the means by which they did away with the first—should have profound implications. The Articles of Confederation, as we’re all taught, really were unworkable. They established a disjointed country with a pitifully weak national government. But there was a process for amending them, and amending them was, in fact, what the constitutional convention was convened to do. It ultimately produced a radically new document; per the Articles, even the slightest amendment would have to be unanimously approved before taking effect.”

“Do we have any less a right to do so? It is beyond debate that we are [our founding father’s] moral superiors…”

This is the mentality of the Left, they feel that if they don’t get their way they should tear everything down. We see that regularly now with historical statues. They have even eyeballed the Emancipation Statue, a statue created with money raised by freed slaves. So this is no different, they are just trying to justify packing the court and changing things to fit their current ideologies.
